Summertime at the studio so far has been bustling with workshops, prepping and procuring materials for upcoming events and trying to fit in some experimental material play for upcoming projects and completing custom orders. Plus, we've also been having lots of poolside time (can you say heat wave!!!), summer entertaining and starry nights. I can't believe how fast July has gone by...where does the time go?

These two new loft clocks are going to be helping 2 households keep track of the hours flying by.

The first clock was crafted with a salvaged 24" spool and then had numerous full and partial transfers applied to the surface to give the clock a well travelled vintage country appeal.

The second loft clock will be making its way to Texas in the USA.

The logistics will be an adventure for this 36" face clock with rust distressing and a driftwood gray wash finish.
I love the quote that was chosen and the antique key gives unexpected interest replacing the traditional "1" on the number 12.

The rust technique was done by mixing cinnamon and Weld Bond glue together.  So not only does it look aged with a flare of rustic industrial, but it smells really good too!

The graphic transfers are from the site www.thegraphicsfairy.com. An amazing source for ideas and graphics offering a wide assortment of themes and objects, free!.

Both pieces also received some of the studio's  beloved horse nail hardware.

Ever wondered what the difference is between cement and concrete? Well, maybe not...but here at Studio50, concrete is an everyday thing. It’s not unusual to hear the two terms used interchangeably, but they are definitely two very different things.
