studio slice | nov. 24/13

November 24, 2013

It's Sunday evening and Steve is cooking up a batch of studio50 board butter and I am thinking back on our week, while listening to some Christmas carols cooing in the background. Monday Steve finished putting in the last beam in the design HAUS and sheeted the rest of the exterior of the building.   DSC_9960   Tuesday the rafters started with some sunshine and milder temps. That ended on Friday with the weather becoming a little more questionable for the weekend.   DSC_9964   Throughout the week I have been casting and finishing rock bottoms vessels for orders and for our open house next weekend!  There will be an intriguing selection to choose from! Thursday Steve and I enjoyed an evening out together to the Grand Opening of Artisan Zone.  We had the pleasure of meeting some very talented artists and enjoyed celebrating Canadian artisans.  Barbara Di Renzo a mixed media and eco artist of Left Align Design who designs amazing pieces ( which I really love and have also put on my Christmas list), was the first to purchase one of studio50's rock bottoms vessels at the Artisan Zone!   DSC_9924   Saturday was a winter wonderland to our kids, but a bit of a roofing nightmare for Steve and his dad.   DSC_9965   But, they got er done, with only a few frozen body parts.  The roof is now sheeted and ready for the steel delivery on Tuesday. The blocking and fascia boards have all been added and they even managed to put in the windows and doors. By that time it was too dark to take a pic, so you will  get to see that in next week's slice!... Or you can come out and see it first hand at our Christmas at the studio open house this weekend from 10-4 both Saturday and Sunday.   DSC_9969   Steve's all done is cooking for now, so until the next slice. cheers kim and steve
