Tis the night before Christmas, And all through the studio, Not a creator is stirring.... So, Steve and I figured we'd share our last studio slice of 2013 with you before all the clattering starts.
Construction of the design haus is moving along. Insulation is now packed into the walls as we get ready for the roller door and the 2 glass doors to be delivered and installed. We're hoping that Santa puts a priority on that delivery for the New Year so the heat stays inside.
Kijiji served us well again by sourcing a great wood fireplace located in Belleville Ontario. Steve and his dad enjoyed an 8 hour drive which provided them with some nice father, son bonding time. We can't wait to hear the crackle of wood burning in our toasty warm studio!
The new "stücke" stool design was introduced and has received great response.
We also enjoyed a creative change of pace with some workshop time spent at a local school with grade 4 students designing their own dragonfly ornaments. Its always fun to see the creative process unfold through the uninhibited eyes of kids. The results were awesome!
Saturday we opened the studio doors again for our fellow Christmas shoppers seeking that special gift to fulfill their Christmas lists. We were introduced to some new faces and saw a flash of several familiar ones as they hurried on with their shopping. It was nice to see our housewares all bundled and wrapped up leaving for their new homes.
Steve and I would like to wish everyone a Joyous and Safe Holiday Season! We look forward to sharing all the goodness that will be happening here at studio50 with you in 2014!

For the holidays, you want to find the perfect gifts for those on your list. However, there are always some names on that list that are challenging to find that "special something" for. The holiday clock is ticking, so here are some of our favourite things that we are gifting to some lucky folks on our gift lists. We betcha one or more of these could end your angst. So sit back, relax and enjoy the season without all the stress!
Ever wondered what the difference is between cement and concrete? Well, maybe not...but here at Studio50, concrete is an everyday thing. It’s not unusual to hear the two terms used interchangeably, but they are definitely two very different things.
