We want comfort and the pieces in our home to be authentic and inspire our everyday. Featuring "the everyday chair". A chair offering years of enjoyment relaxing anywhere, be it inside your home, outside or both. 
The frame of both the chair and the footstool is constructed of solid spruce. All sides and ends of the each piece of wood is given 2 coats of a semi-transparent stain specially formulated by Woodmate, a hybrid system that blends urethane, acrylic and Linseed oil. The set above was stained with "chocolate", but there is a wide selection of colours to choose from. The pieces are sealed with 2 more coats of a clear protective coating also by Woodmate and then assembled. All visible screw holes on the sides are plugged and finished, we've left the pocket holes on the back exposed for accent.
The removable cushion is designed to lift out for cleaning, storage by tilting up and back against the frame of the chair.
There are 4 layers that make up the cushion.
The seat base is a linear low density polyethylene board, that is made in Canada. It is 100% environmentally friendly made from hygienic post industrial waste. It is high impact resistant. non-toxic and odourless, chemical and corrosion resistant, fungi and decay resistant and waterproof.
Topping the board is a high density polyethylene fibre made for outdoor and marine applications. The unique lace design does not absorb moisture and allows air to freely circulate. speeding up drying time. It is topped with 3 layers of polyester batting to give extra comfort. Both these materials do not absorb moisture, nor support the growth of mould or mildew.
The fabric covering the cushion is Sunbrella, which is fabricated specifically for outdoor wear and tear. It is made of 100% solution dyed acrylic fibres, to withstand exposure to sun, rain, and chlorine. The fabric is also anti-microbial and mildew resistant. To clean all you do is lift the whole cushion out, rinse with mild soap and water or bleach for stubborn stains, rinse and let air dry!
The footstool features a custom hand-pressed concrete panel that also can be lifted out.
Every function has been considered in the design to ensure a solid investment to compliment an indoor/outdoor blended lifestyle. Kids, stains, weather, storage, sustainable, pets, life...ready to enjoy.
