  • a decluttered sunday

    January 21, 2013 1 min read

This weekend was spent revamping and drafting up some designs for our kids bedrooms.  Two things lead to this Sunday all day event.

1: The closet rod in our youngest's room snapped in half spewing out her wares.  So, we got the hint that the load capacity needed to be addressed along with the layout.  It's a small room with odd angles and low ceilings so we're trying to make something compact with a big bang.  I've been loving the look of plywood used in designs I've seen lately and after several drafts and searching for a visual for her to see,  we've found a layout that both parties like, with a few modifications to work with the room dimensions.  Construction will commence soon, once we receive all the hardware.  Here's a glimpse of what we're thinking:

But in purple, not in shag carpet...well some will be.  She's our 70's retro girl.

2: The 2nd event was when our oldest came down one morning last week announcing that she wants to "totally declutter" her room.  I will not lie, I never thought this day would come.  So my shock and utter happiness was expressed while choking on my coffee. It's still not quite ready for a photo shoot, but here' s a sneak peek of her vintage style.

So now I am in the process of cleaning up after their cleaning up...how does that work?

Ever wondered what the difference is between cement and concrete? Well, maybe not...but here at Studio50, concrete is an everyday thing. It’s not unusual to hear the two terms used interchangeably, but they are definitely two very different things.
