This past Friday a girlfriend and I ventured into the big city of Toronto for the design show. This year we added a night on the town with a Saturday morning trip to the St. Lawrence market before walking over to the show. A great tradition that I am already looking forward to for next year!
The show this year definitely had a different flavour than last year, which highlighted a more organic naturist theme. This year I found it to be more of a Miami glam look with polycarbonate(plastic), lots of glass, and veneer. A modern feel with a twist of the 60's.
Some of the highlights for me were displays by Eclectic Revival, featuring this very cool Early Ford Headlight Pendant Conversion.

These amazing works of glass and fibreglass lighting from AM Studio .

We both fell in love with this Danish chair that Montauk Sofa had on display in their booth. After the show while sipping a cup of java in Starbucks we called up the Toronto showroom to inquire about it. The love affair ended for me with the price tag of $8000 a chair. But, it was super comfy.

Some porcelain tiles from Spain had our heads turning and might be gracing a back splash in the next few months. We drove all the way to Mettro Source after the show on Saturday to check out their showroom and possibly purchase some tiles, but they weren't open that weekend. Frustrating...They didn't have the tiles that we were interested in up on their site, but here are a few others that caught my eye.

There were some other greats displays, but the only camera I brought was my phone, which well...really sucks. It doesn't have a flash or a great camera feature. But!!!, That will all change in a few days when I get my new Blackberry 10! Specially reserved for me by my hubby. I'm excited.

Ever wondered what the difference is between cement and concrete? Well, maybe not...but here at Studio50, concrete is an everyday thing. It’s not unusual to hear the two terms used interchangeably, but they are definitely two very different things.
