We've revamped our workshop experience to make it even more fun and flexible. Now, instead of one project on a specific day, you get to choose your own adventure. Pick a workshop date that works best for you and then select one out of the 4 projects being offered you want to hand-cast.
During the 2-hour workshop, you will cast two pieces in the same mold profile - one in a concrete grey colour and one in a concrete white colour - and let your creativity decide about the marbling details you want to add. The focus of casting 2 of the same molds is to get familiar and comfortable with the process. Trust us you will want the repeat practice.
Bring along a friend or two, and enjoy a relaxing Saturday out exploring your artistic side. Afterwards, we'll give you a tour of our studio and celebrate with a light lunch in either our cozy loft or our sunny outdoor space, weather permitting.
We can't wait to see what you'll create!
Please read the FAQ below for more workshop details and what we serve for a light lunch.

Like any activity where you have the potential to get materials on your clothing, please wear clothing that you are OK with getting a little concrete on.
Does it matter if I come late to the workshop?
We ask all participates to plan on making sure they are here and ready to begin on time. We will be sharing and demonstrating to you the process first which will be super helpful when it's your turn to start mixing and pouring your casts.

I love your style of concrete, can you teach me how to make my concrete look exactly like yours?
We're thrilled that you love Studio50 concrete furniture and homewares, thank you! The textured gaia grey and textured almost-white is our signature personal style that we have created over several years. We will not be demonstrating or discussing this artistic process. The focus of the workshops are for you to experience the basics of hand-casting, the importance of a mold, and learning what qualities you should be looking for in a "sound" and sealed concrete piece.
Is this workshop suitable for children?
Our workshops are not suitable for children. Participants must be 15 years or older.
When do I get to take home my concrete pieces?
The pieces you cast will need to cure for 24 hours before they are removed from the mold. Someone from the Studio50 team (Kim, Steve or Julie) will de-mold your casts, give them a light sand and give them one coat of sealer. Once they are ready, we will email you for the pickup at our studio. If you would prefer us to ship them, you can add that option from our workshop page.
