    Happy Summer !

I love this month so much! Everything is green and lush, the gardens are starting to give us fresh veggies and herbs, and it's kind of a romantic month...Steve and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year! How wild is that? :)

It's also the perfect time for picnics and eating outside on the patio. My go-to recipe for something quick and delicious is this Moroccan Carrot Kale Lentil salad. It uses easy, fresh ingredients. I always add lots of chopped up kale and toasted walnuts to mine, and I'm generous with the spices too. SO GOOD!

If you love spices and herbs, you should definitely add this book to your kitchen: " The Spice Companion". It's an amazing reference book with information about each spice, recommended pairings, spice pairings, recipe ideas and quick blends.

"I realized this week that I just cannot do it all. So I will choose to do what I can FABULOUSLY." - Clinton Kelly

    A Summer Evening Ritual

One of my favourite summer evening rituals is making homemade iced tea to sip the next day. I brew my batches using this metal tea infuserand loose leaf tea fromGenuine Tea into a 1.8L mason jar.

Let it cool and sweeten with maple syrup or your favourite sweetener before storing the jar in the fridge.

To serve, use a funnel and pour into a chilled Rock Bottom Decanter and Enjoy!

Here are some tea blends I love for June: Lemon Ginger Rooibos, Sakura Rose and Lemongrass Chamomile.

    Garden Blooms

I've been enjoying gathering blooms from the garden to arrange in my Little Gaia Vase. The compact size is so perfect to set on the kitchen table.

Don't forget to include herbs in your flower arrangements! This time, I used Rue. Its leaves have a lovely shape, and the little yellow flowers add a soft pop of colour and go so well with this darling white peony.

    Enjoy June!
